Jumping the Nail I thought was incredible. It was very suspenseful and also scary at times. Also Eve Bunting, the author, throws in some humor. This book shows how friends should act, and what a really close friendship should be like. In the book, there is a big cliff with water at the bottom of it. A few of the characters jump off of it. Though the characters know they have a chance of getting hurt, they still jump to either get attention or actually show their love to another person. The first couple to jump does it successfully, but when Elisa, one of the main characters, hits and goes under water she gets her boot torn apart by something terrible. You must read this book to find out what happens to Elisa and what tore apart her boot.

This book is a thriller. It leaves you hanging at the end of every chapter. The main character is Dru. The Nail is this cliff that is surrounded by rocks. At the bottom there is water. There is a story that a girl that went off the nail in her car is still down there and anyone that lands in the water want to help her get free. At the beginning of the book Scooter and his girlfriend, Elisa, jump the nail thankfully they survive. Then later on the McInerney twins jump. At the end something happens, something tragic. Read to find out what happens.

I read the book, Jumping the Nail, by Eve Bunting. Jumping the Nail was about young teenagers who jump a cliff called the Nail and land into the water below, called the Deep, no one has ever reached the bottom. Dru and Mike, the main characters, try to stop people from jumping the Nail. There had been many stories about what happened to those who dared to jump. Elisa and Scooter, Dru and Mikes friends, decide to jump together to show their love for each other. After they jump Elisa begins acting strange, and starts telling stupid stories, that no one believes, that down at the bottom of the Deep there is a car with two dead bodies in it. The ghost of one of the bodies tries to make Elisa stay down in the Deep, Elisa gets away and comes back to the surface. More people start to jump. Some one gets hurt, and someone dies. I would recommend this book to anyone who likes ghost stories.

The book "Jumping the Nail" was a very good book. I thought that it was very interesting. The main character's best friend was Elsie and she was the one that jumped the nail. Her boyfriend scooter wanted her to that was the only reason why she did it. She said that when she jumped she felt something grab her leg and push her down. She thought it was a sign that someone or something wanted her help. Then she told her best friend Drew {the main character} about it and she thought that she was crazy even though she believed her. This book is the kind of book that once you get started you can't stop and I can tell you that this book was one of my favorite books that I read in lit circles and read in my life time. So when you read this book I hope you enjoy it like I did.
